Visit Chimney Rock Park
Fox Run Preserve is unique among Asheville and Hendersonville community living options in that many of its amenities are nature-made. With mountain laurel, rhododendron, and hardwood trees surrounding beautiful homesites, it's no wonder that the area attracts so many who are passionate about the outdoors. Of course, if you prefer something more active than simply sitting on your front porch enjoying the incredible Western North Carolina views, the surrounding area offers a wealth of opportunity to get outside and explore.
Chimney Rock Park is an iconic site to visit. Take the stairs or an elevator up 315 feet to the top of Chimney Rock, and enjoy 75 mile views over Hickory Nut Gorge. If you'd rather view the chimney from a distance, Skyline Trail and other scenic stops along walkways grant visitors some of the most spectacular vantage points from which to enjoy the park. In addition, the 404-foot Hickory Nut Falls, one of the highest waterfalls east of the Mississippi, is not to be missed. Visitors may even recognize it from the blockbuster hit Last of the Mohicans. Bird watching is also a favorite pastime among park guests, and there are often guided hikes, rock climbing, education programs, children's activities, musical workshops, and nature walks to help visitors learn more about the nature, wildlife, and mountain heritage of the region.
When you choose to make Fox Run Preserve your home, you also choose to live in the heart of what makes the Blue Ridge Mountains so appealing. With nature at your doorstep and urban lifestyle opportunities just a few minutes away, you can enjoy a summer camp atmosphere with all of the modern conveniences you need. Of course, adventure is never far away either, and Chimney Rock Park is an ideal place to start.
