Gardening in Hendersonville

Hendersonville is as green as ever with flowers and trees still blooming, and the Bullington Center is one of the best places for visitors to enjoy the seasonal beauty of Western North Carolina. The Bullington Center is a public garden that spans 12 acres and includes a nature trail, amphitheater, and greenhouse. For horticultural experts or just flower admirers, the gardens encourage exploration of local and native plants.

Wander around in the colorful butterfly garden; learn about culinary, fragrant and dye, medicinal, and biblical herbs in another; or find comfort in the new therapy garden. There are many to choose from, and there is plenty of time left this summer for you to explore each one.

The Bullington Center also offers plenty of educational opportunities, so that you can learn new skills for you own garden at home. Soon to come are the Hypertufa Workshop on July 22nd and the Cuttings Workshop on August 7th. If that isn't enough time outdoors for you, they also have an extensive volunteer program, so that you can turn your favorite pastime into a contribution to the community.

And if you are eager to surround yourself with landscaped gardens and outdoor activities year-round, consider Fox Run Preserve, a gated community in Hendersonville that is just minutes away from the Bullington Center. With an orchard and community garden included with the planned amenities, you won't even have to leave your home to take pleasure in your outdoor hobbies. In addition, a pond and encircling trail system surrounded by rhododendron and mountain laurel provide many occassions to be active.
