Take a Drive on Route 276

Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Hendersonville real estate at Fox Run Preserve boasts unparalleled access to everything that makes Western North Carolina such an exciting destination. From the Blue Ridge Parkway to the brillance of the autumn leaves, the gated community enjoys a tranquil and inviting setting.

In addition to the Parkway, there is another route that carries visitors and residents to some of the most magnificent scenery, charming towns, and adventerous activities that the region has to offer. Route 276, which runs northwesterly and directly through Hendersonville, is just minutes from Fox Run Preserve, so take advantage of some of the final days of summer and hop on the road.

Begin your drive by following the Davidson River, where you can spend your time fly fishing, tubing, or kayaking. If you're a novice, the resident experts at Davidson River Outfitters will be happy to introduce you to the joys of fishing. After some time on the water, jump back in the car and make your way up over the Pisgah Ridge where you'll cross over the Blue Ridge Parkway. Here, visitors can stop at the Pisgah Center for Wildlife Education to learn more about the forest that they are exploring. Programs, exhibits, documentaries, and even a trout hatchery, provide a fun-filled and educational experience that will leave you in awe of North Carolina's mountain habitats. In addition, you may also want to explore the Cradle of Forestery--an historic site where Carl Schenck, with the help of Gifford Pinchot and George W. Vanderbilt, founded the nation's first school of forestry, creating a lasting legacy and passion for sustainability in Western NC.

Of course, if you prefer a more hands-on experience, you may want to consider hiking in the Pink Beds Recreation Area, taking in the view at Looking Glass Falls, or taking a ride down Sliding Rock. Whatever your choice, Route 276 will get you there. And if you choose to purchase a homesite in Fox Run Preserve, 276 will also bring you home, where you can enjoy the splendors of the Blue Ridge Mountains from your front door.
