Learn about Asheville and Hendersonville through Public Art

Every year, Western North Carolina grows as one of the southeast's major arts destinations. From galleries and studio strolls to plays and symphonies, it's not hard to find incredible displays of talent when you're in the Blue Ridge Mountains. And you don't even have to be an artist to appreciate it.

Hendersonville and Asheville host a variety of public art, which provides a wonderful testament not only to the region's heritage but also to the potential in our future. Hendersonville's current public art exhibit, "A Slice of Hendersonville," is on display until October 24th, so now is the perfect time to hit the sidewalks and explore the many colors of downtown. The exhibit is comprised of 15 fiberglass apples, each painted and decorated differently. And with names like "News A Peel," "American Pie," and "We're All the Same on the Inside," you're sure to find something inspiring, amusing, or even thought-provoking. Public art honors and celebrates the diversity in experience when people visit or live in the area, so you choose what you see.

And the same goes for nature's art, too. Fox Run Preserve, Hendersonville's premier gated community, showcases the best kind of public art--the beauty of Western North Carolina. So use your imagination and envision what you could gain from life there. And if you need a little more inspiration, be sure to complete an online contact form to learn more about the community.

Fox Run Preserve not only places you within minutes of the many attractions of downtown Hendersonville but also puts you within a short drive of Asheville, too. If public art is what you seek, Asheville's Urban Trail should not be missed. The 1.7-mile walk takes sightseers past more than 30 sculptures and plaques, and displays from the Asheville Mural Project are never far away. Check out breathtaking murals on the I-240 underpass on Lexington Avenue, or cruise through West Asheville and learn the city's story from the most reliable source--the city itself. And to learn more about Fox Run's story, doen't forget to schedule a tour so that you can see first-hand what sets the community apart.
