Hendersonville Welcomes Families with Hands On!

After spending a few days in the snow and with many friends and family still in town for the holidays, residents of and visitors to Western North Carolina are ready to get back outside to enjoy some time together. And while everyone is exploring all of the attractions in the Asheville area, residents may notice a trend among their visitors--conversations about the many wonderful qualities of the region.

Every year there are many visitors who come to the area for quick vacations only to realize that they'd like to extend their stay and move to the mountains. And it's not surprising. The mountains provide incredible scenery, and there is never a shortage of activities to entertain people of all ages. In fact, Fox Run Preserve, a gated community located just minutes from downtown Hendersonville, epitomizes WNC's appeal.

The homesites in Fox Run Preserve are geared towards a variety of people, including families. Grandparents and parents will love the many nearby summer camps, highly-regarded schools, and award-winning hospitals, not to mention the natural beauty and unique amenities within the community. Fox Run's location places residents in an ideal area from which to discover all that the region has to offer.

Just one of the many opportunities that can be found in Hendersonville is Hands On!, a gallery designed for children. At Hands On!, grandparents and parents with their children can play in the grocery store, learn about simple tools in the log cabin, make original creations in the art center, hone their skills in the musical room, and even learn about local crops. Each station encourages imaginative play while providing educational exhibits. In addition, every Tuesday is grandparent's day, which offers even more reason to spend time with family.
