The Henderson County Library Preserves the Past, Drives the Future

From helping area residents get up to speed with the latest technology to housing artifacts and archives that date back to the town's beginnings, the Henderson County Library is going above and beyond in their efforts to serve Western North Carolina. The main branch is located just ten minutes from Fox Run Preserve in downtown Hendersonville, NC, and is a hub for literature fanatics, families, historians, and more.

Fox Run Preserve, a gated community nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, is surrounded by a rich heritage marked and preserved by a continuous appreciation for the outdoors, arts, and Appalachian traditions. For those who live out of town but are in the market for Asheville area real estate or for those who are just interested in learning more about the area, the Henderson County Library is the best place to start. The wealth of information there and the many classes and events offer welcome insight into the area's past while gently propelling it into the future.

Classes and events cover a wide variety of topics including everything from learning the basics of effective internet searching to guest speakers like local storyteller Virginia Newsom. The library's special collections are highlights, too, with The Baker-Barber Collection, which is a compilation of Arthur Farrington Baker's photography, and The Stillwell Collection, which includes more than 4,000 original drawings by Erle Stillwell whose architecture remains a major part of Hendersonville's landscape. Whatever your interests or your age, the library is sure to have something to peak your interests.

In fact, you may just fall in love with Western North Carolina all over again after learning so much about it, and Fox Run Preserve offers homesites that are ideally suited for those interested in enjoying the best of the area.
