Small Towns Offer Big Appeal

Waterfalls, preserved forests, the arts, and relaxation all come to mind with the words "Western North Carolina." Traditional southern hospitality mix with an innovative and modern culture to create a region marked by an endless range of residents, activities, businesses, arts, and more. From young painters and poets to retirees seeking a second home as a mountain retreat, the area has long been a point of appeal to people across the nation.

Apart from the region's many accolades, one of the most noticeable and nationally-recognized qualities about WNC is the love that residents have for the towns in which they reside. In fact, many of the region's accolades and much of its recognition is a direct result of residents' love for the area. Currently, Brevard, NC, is holding a strong second in a national race to win BudgetTravel.com's title of "Coolest Small Town." With a population of fewer than 10,000, Brevard has managed to earn more than 50,000 votes in the contest, which is a strong testament to the world-class offerings of the small town. Of course, with attractions like Pisgah National Forest, DuPont State Forest, The Porter Center, Sliding Rock, fine dining restaurants, galleries, and more, it's no wonder Brevard is receiving so much attention.

Surrounding towns like Hendersonville and Asheville help, too, and are also big earners when it comes to accolades and national rankings. Both are major arts hubs and both combine small town mountain welcomes with cosmopolitan opportunities. And both are filled with people who love the area.

Fox Run Preserve, a gated community in Hendersonville, is proud to be home to some of those residents and is happy to offer up plenty of reasons to love Western North Carolina. The community's real estate options come complete with outdoor amenities, a convenient location, peace of mind and privacy, and some of the area's best long range mountain views.
