Asheville is a Major Fall Foliage Destination

Candy for trick-or-treaters can be found lining the grocery store aisles, we are all stocking up on warmer clothes, and fallen leaves are blowing across roads and yards still clean from last year's raking. As of Wednesday, September 22nd, it's official that fall is upon us. For Asheville and the surrounding communities, the new season is bringing a resurgence of media attention, and considering how much the beautiful Western North Carolina region gets already, that's saying quite a bit.

Earlier this week, USA Today ran an article admiring the beauty of fall in Asheville. "They are called the Blue Ridge Mountains," the article reads, "but in Asheville in autumn, they might as well be called the orange, red, and yellow." It's true. Those who have observed the fall foliage in Asheville's mountains are sure that they did not receive their name around this time of year.

Already, the higher elevations are transitioning from the mountain's namesake blues into the brilliant golds, rusted and warm browns, and deep reds and oranges, and Asheville boasts hundreds of places from which to view the inspiring scenery. USA Today and Western North Carolina residents can agree that "there is no better place in the Asheville area to see the leaves than the Blue Ridge Parkway, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year." Stretching from the Great Smoky Mountains in NC to the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia, the Parkway gives visitors and residents a total of 469 miles of long range views, hiking trails, and stops in nationally-recognized destinations like Asheville.

Hendersonville, North Carolina, which is a convenient and short drive from Asheville, is also situated close to the Blue Ridge Parkway and should be on everyone's list for places to visit during the autumn drives in the mountains. Fox Run Preserve, a gated community in Hendersonville, has incredible views, gracious common areas, and private and wooded lots that are enough to make anyone want to enjoy Western North Carolina's beauty year round.

So while you are making you autumn tour, remember to stop by Fox Run Preserve to it at the height of its beauty. You can also learn more about the community and Hendersonville real estate for sale by calling Sonny Iler at 828-329-9777 or by completing a contact form online.
